QuickBooks Payments fees, next to a capped bank transfer
QuickBooks Payments lists 2.99% for cards on invoices and 1% for bank payments, with a $1 minimum and no cap. On cards that is within a few cents of Stripe. On a bank transfer it isn't: 1% of a $5,000 invoice is $50, and through your own Stripe account the same transfer is $6.50.

Questions people ask before switching
Does QuickBooks Payments cap its bank-transfer fee?
Its published rates page (checked October 2, 2026) lists 1% per bank payment with a $1 minimum and no cap. Rates can differ by account, so check the rate on your own QuickBooks Payments statement before you compare.
Is QuickBooks cheaper on small invoices?
Yes, on bank transfers under about $650. 1% of a $500 invoice is $5.00; through Stripe it is $4.00 plus the $1.50 bank verification, $5.50. Above roughly $650 Stripe's $5 cap takes over and the gap widens with every dollar.
Can I keep using QuickBooks for my books?
Yes. Most people who compare these keep QuickBooks as their ledger. Business connects to QuickBooks Online, so the change is only where the invoice is sent from and how the customer pays it.
