Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using ScanThisText ("the Service"), operated by Blue Mint Technologies LLC ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. The Service is available via our website (scanthistext.com) and mobile applications (collectively, "Platforms"). Your continued use constitutes acceptance of any updates to these terms.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service (or 16 years of age if you reside in the European Economic Area). By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Permitted Use
- Extract text from documents you own or have rights to
- Use extracted text for personal or commercial purposes
- Access the Service via supported web browsers and mobile apps
- Delete your data and close your account at any time
Prohibited Use
- Upload illegal, offensive, or copyrighted content without permission
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, security measures, or abuse the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy our technology
- Use automated tools to scrape or overload our systems
- Upload documents containing sensitive data of third parties without their consent
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or bans
Content & Data Rights
Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to content you upload. We do not claim ownership of your documents, images, or extracted text. We process your content solely to provide the OCR and document intelligence service.
License to Us
By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content for the purpose of providing the Service. This license terminates when we delete your content (within 24 hours of processing).
AI-Assisted Processing
Your documents may be processed using third-party AI services for text extraction, classification, and analysis. Your document content is sent to these services solely for processing and is not used to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details on third-party data handling.
Aggregated Data
We may collect and use aggregated, anonymized data derived from usage of the Service (such as total scans processed, error rates, performance metrics) for analytics and service improvement. This data cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your original content.
Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, logos, trademarks, code, algorithms, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Blue Mint Technologies LLC and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written consent. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
Subscription & Billing
Free & Paid Plans
The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers. Free accounts are subject to usage limits (scans per day/month). Paid plans unlock additional features and higher limits as described on our pricing page.
Recurring Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) at the rate displayed at the time of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period. Payment is processed securely via our PCI-compliant payment processor.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period.
Price Changes
We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the new pricing, you may cancel before it takes effect.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for subscription fees already charged, except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion for service issues. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact support@scanthistext.com within 14 days of the charge.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page on the web app or mobile app. Upon requesting deletion:
- Your account is immediately deactivated and you will be signed out
- Any active paid subscriptions are cancelled immediately
- A 30-day grace period begins during which your data is retained but inaccessible, allowing you to contact support to recover your account if the deletion was accidental
- After 30 days, all personally identifiable information is permanently anonymized and cannot be recovered
- Billing records may be retained as required by law for accounting and tax purposes
Mobile Application
The ScanThisText mobile application is available on iOS and Android. Your use of the mobile app is also subject to the applicable app store terms (Apple App Store Terms of Service or Google Play Terms of Service).
The mobile app may request access to your device camera and photo library solely for the purpose of capturing or selecting documents for scanning. We do not access these features for any other purpose. You may revoke these permissions at any time via your device settings.
Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and have no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty for the app. Any claims related to the app are between you and Blue Mint Technologies LLC, not the app store provider.
AI Processing & Accuracy
The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to extract, classify, and analyze document content. While we strive for high accuracy, AI-generated results are provided on a best-effort basis and may contain errors.
You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted text and AI-generated outputs before relying on them for legal, financial, medical, or any other critical decisions. We disclaim all liability for errors in AI-processed content.
Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. OCR and AI accuracy may vary based on image quality, document complexity, language, and other factors.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Blue Mint Technologies LLC and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Blue Mint Technologies LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights; (d) any content you upload to the Service; or (e) your negligent or willful misconduct.
Service Changes & Termination
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice when possible
- We may terminate or suspend your access immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time
- Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive will remain in effect, including liability, indemnification, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and data rights
Modifications to Terms & Policies
We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy at any time, at our sole discretion. Changes may include, but are not limited to, updates to service scope, pricing, data practices, user rights, and legal provisions.
When we make material changes, we will: (a) update the "Last updated" date at the top of the affected document; (b) provide notice via email to registered users and/or a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect, except where changes are required by law or relate to new features.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account. We encourage you to periodically review these Terms for the latest information.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or security breaches.
Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Blue Mint Technologies LLC.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Blue Mint Technologies LLC regarding the Service, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and all remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power failures, internet outages, or third-party service provider failures.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
By using ScanThisText, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
