By using ScanThisText, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using ScanThisText ("the Service"), operated by Blue Mint Technologies LLC ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. The Service is available via our website (scanthistext.com) and mobile applications (collectively, "Platforms"). Your continued use constitutes acceptance of any updates to these terms.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service (or 16 years of age if you reside in the European Economic Area). By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet the applicable minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Permitted Use
- Extract text from documents you own or have rights to
- Use extracted text for personal or commercial purposes
- Access the Service via supported web browsers and mobile apps
- Delete your data and close your account at any time
Prohibited Use
- Upload illegal, offensive, or copyrighted content without permission
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, security measures, or abuse the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy our technology
- Use automated tools to scrape or overload our systems
- Upload documents containing sensitive data of third parties without their consent
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or bans
Content & Data Rights
Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to content you upload. We do not claim ownership of your documents, images, or extracted text. We process your content solely to provide the OCR and document intelligence service.
License to Us
By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process your content for the purpose of providing the Service. This license ends when your content is deleted from our systems.
AI-Assisted Processing
Your documents may be processed using third-party AI services for text extraction, classification, and analysis. Your document content is sent to these services solely for processing, and we do not use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details on third-party data handling.
Aggregated Data
We may collect and use aggregated, anonymized data derived from usage of the Service (such as total scans processed, error rates, performance metrics) for analytics and service improvement. This data cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your original content.
Our Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, logos, trademarks, code, algorithms, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Blue Mint Technologies LLC and protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written consent. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
Subscription & Billing
Free & Paid Plans
The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers. Free accounts are subject to usage limits (such as scans per day). Paid plans unlock additional features and higher limits as described on our pricing page.
Recurring Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) at the rate displayed at the time of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period. Payment is processed securely via our PCI-compliant payment processor.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain access to paid features through the end of your current billing period. Cancelling a subscription does not, by itself, issue a refund — see the Refund Policy below.
One-Time Purchases
We also sell one-time purchases: a 7-day Pro pass, which gives you the Pro plan for seven days from purchase (buying another while one is active adds seven more days), and scan packs, which add scans to your account that are used once you are past the Free plan's daily limit. A one-time purchase is a single charge. It never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. A pass ends on its own after its seven days; scans from a pack stay on your account until you use them. A pass can be refunded within 24 hours under the Refund Policy below. Scan packs bought from 00:00 UTC on October 16, 2026 are final and can't be refunded once bought; earlier packs keep that 24-hour window. If a one-time purchase is refunded in full, whether under that policy or because the law requires it, what it gave is taken back: a pass loses its days, and up to as many scans as the pack added come off your balance.
You can buy without an account. The purchase is then kept on the browser you bought it in, and we email a link to the address you give at checkout: opening that link within 30 days while signed in moves the purchase, and only the purchase, to that account. Signing up or signing in on the same browser keeps it too. If you lose access to both the browser and the email, contact support with your receipt.
Taxes
Where we are required to collect sales tax, VAT or a similar tax, it is calculated at checkout from your billing address and shown before you pay.
Price Changes
We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree to the new pricing, you may cancel before it takes effect.
Refund Policy — 24-Hour Refund Window
All sales are final after 24 hours, and scan packs bought from 00:00 UTC on October 16, 2026 are final as soon as they are bought. We offer one narrow refund window: email support@scanthistext.com within 24 hours of a subscription charge, of buying a 7-day Pro pass, or of buying a scan pack before that date and, provided you meet the usage condition below, we will refund that charge in full to the original payment method. The window applies to every subscription charge, including monthly and annual automatic renewals.
Usage condition: a refund is available only if your usage since that charge stays within 10 scans and 5,000 translated characters a day (days run from 00:00 UTC), and uses no feature the Free plan does not include (such as reading a PDF past its first 5 pages). If you go beyond that allowance, the paid service has been delivered and that charge is no longer refundable.
Scan packs are final. A scan pack bought from 00:00 UTC on October 16, 2026 can't be refunded once bought: the 24-hour window and the usage condition above don't apply to it. Its scans are added to your account the moment you pay. This doesn't affect any legal right to cancel you have where you live.
No partial refunds. We do not issue partial, pro-rated, or unused-portion refunds under any circumstances. This applies equally to monthly and annual plans, including the unused remainder of an annual term, and to one-time purchases. Cancelling stops future renewals only — it does not refund a charge already made.
Free trials: the Business free trial runs for 14 days and does not require a payment method. No charge is made during it or when it ends — your account simply returns to the Free plan until you choose to subscribe, so there is nothing to cancel and no refund to issue. Trials are limited to one per customer and include a document limit, shown on the plan page. If you subscribe while a trial is still running, your first charge is deferred until the trial would have ended. Trials started before this policy took effect with a card on file run their original length and convert to a paid subscription at the end unless cancelled first.
Avoiding an unwanted renewal: cancel before your renewal date. Your renewal date is shown in your account settings. Purchases made through the Google Play Store are refunded under Google's refund policy rather than this one.
Chargebacks and disputes: if you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact us first so we can resolve the issue directly. Initiating a chargeback before contacting support may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account. We will issue refunds outside this policy where required by applicable law — including any statutory withdrawal or cancellation right in your jurisdiction — or at our sole discretion for documented service issues.
Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page on the web app or mobile app, or by emailing support@scanthistext.com. Upon requesting deletion:
- Your account is immediately deactivated and you will be signed out
- Paid subscriptions bought on our website stop renewing immediately and end when the account is deleted; for subscriptions bought through Google Play, we ask Google to stop renewal, but you should also cancel them in Google Play
- A 30-day grace period begins (14 days when we delete your account at your emailed request) during which your data is retained but inaccessible. We email the address on your account, if it has one, with the exact date and a link to keep your account, and you can also contact support to recover it if the deletion was accidental
- When the grace period ends, your account and its content are permanently deleted, the remaining personally identifiable information is anonymized, and the account can no longer be restored. If an invoice payment is still processing, a Google Play subscription is still renewing, a team you own still has other members or the account is blocked, we finish once that is resolved
- Billing records may be retained as required by law for accounting and tax purposes
Mobile Application
The ScanThisText Android app is in testing and is not yet publicly available. Once it is offered through Google Play, your use of it will also be subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
The mobile app may request access to your device camera and photo library solely for the purpose of capturing or selecting documents for scanning. We do not access these features for any other purpose. You may revoke these permissions at any time via your device settings.
Google is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty for the app. Any claims related to the app are between you and Blue Mint Technologies LLC, not the app store provider.
AI Processing & Accuracy
The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to extract, classify, and analyze document content. While we strive for high accuracy, AI-generated results are provided on a best-effort basis and may contain errors.
You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all extracted text and AI-generated outputs before relying on them for legal, financial, medical, or any other critical decisions. We disclaim all liability for errors in AI-processed content.
Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. OCR and AI accuracy may vary based on image quality, document complexity, language, and other factors.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Blue Mint Technologies LLC and its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the lesser of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $100 USD.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Blue Mint Technologies LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights; (d) any content you upload to the Service; or (e) your negligent or willful misconduct.
Service Changes & Termination
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice when possible
- We may terminate or suspend your access immediately if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time
- Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive will remain in effect, including liability, indemnification, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and data rights
Modifications to Terms & Policies
We reserve the right to modify, update, or replace these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy at any time, at our sole discretion. Changes may include, but are not limited to, updates to service scope, pricing, data practices, user rights, and legal provisions.
When we make material changes, we will: (a) update the "Last updated" date at the top of the affected document; (b) provide notice via email to registered users and/or a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect, except where changes are required by law or relate to new features.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account. We encourage you to periodically review these Terms for the latest information.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or security breaches.
Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Blue Mint Technologies LLC.
General Provisions
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Blue Mint Technologies LLC regarding the Service, superseding any prior agreements or understandings.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and all remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power failures, internet outages, or third-party service provider failures.
No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
By using ScanThisText, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
